I cannot believe that Kai has turned 5. Where has the time gone? I'm sure all you mothers know what I'm talking about. With kids "the days are long and the years are short". That is one of my favorite sayings that , funny enough, I heard on some reality MTV show. It really has stuck with me, though, because it is SO true! I feel like Kai is growing up so fast. I love seeing him develop into an actual person, but all too soon he won't think snuggling, kissing and hugging me is cool. How sad is that?
Anyhow, yesterday we had a little field trip for his birthday celebration. Along with 3 of his cute friends, Jared and I took Kai to Boomers for some bowling and miniature golf. What fun that all was. And, with well-behaved children like Spencer McClendon, Connor Ek and Garrick Foth you can't go wrong. They were all such good sports and had a blast. So, here are some pictures from the big day. I'm sorry that there are a lot, but who can choose just a few with cuties like these? I sure couldn't.
The rest of these are at home. After lunch at Boomers, we headed home for some play time, cupcakes and opening gifts. Kai could not wait for that. He got some great things from his friends. Thanks, Moms!! Kai was thrilled.
Payton got home just before naps (Patience was AWESOME and watched her while we were at Boomers. Thanks, P!) and dived into some needed cupcakes, followed by love for her brother. They are so cute together. I love it!
AND Finally, Jared got home from work and Kai got to open the gifts from us and his grandparents.
It was a perfect day and Kai is already asking how many days until he turns 6. Sorry, dude, it's a while!!
p.s. Kai doesn't wear pants at home very often. Sorry about the T-shirt/ undie look. What can ya do?!
