Halloween - Lots of it!

This year was FULL of Halloween festivities! We started the holiday off with our ward Trunk or Treat. It was fantastic and very chaotic...for me. All the running around, and where are my kids, and say Trick or Treat Payton!, etc. was a lot for one night! Our ward did a great job, though, and they deserve an applause. Kai and Payton had a wonderfully exhausting time!

Here we have Payton freaking out because, apparently, she is deathly afraid of masks, painted faces, costumes and Halloween in general. This was her in the middle of her B-line to the back door! I had to stop and take a picture of her, though. People must have been thinking, "Camille, help your child, for goodness sake!" But, I had to get that shot. I can be relentless, what can I say?!

hunk o' burnin' love anyone???

The night before Halloween we FINALLY got ourselves and our poor deprived children to the pumpkin patch. These days Kai knows far too well that there are fun rides, games, and bounce houses to be had at the Laguna Hills Pumpkin Patch (all $4 for each ride). There is no way we can go there and not spend about 50 bucks. That is why we strategically went to the pumpkin patch at the Town Center. There are only a couple bounce houses there, so not too much to choose from...hence, saving some cash on WAY over priced pumpkin patch activities. I mean, seriously, that is robbery!

I was trying to carry Payton up the steep bounce house slide and it was challenging. Kids were running up past me and throwing my balance off. I thought me and Payton were going to go flying back down and fall on our faces. Scary! I like how Jared was just watching and taking pictures of us despite the fact that I looked like I was struggling. A good shot at whatever the cost, I guess. Ah, a man after my heart!

That night we (and when I say "we" I mean Jared) carved our pumpkins. It was fun to watch and I was, as always, impressed by Jared's skill. While Jared was cutting the top off the pumpkin Kai said, "Wow, you sure are strong, Daddy!" Amen, Kai!

The only job really safe enough for Kai to do was to scrape out the seeds. Unfortunately, he thought the pumpkin guts smelled worse than Payton poop. SO, he forfeited that job. Later he complained he didn't get to do anything and watching was boring! Nice!

Finally, Halloween night came and we headed over to the Roney's for some good, old-fashioned Trick or Treating and delicious dinner. Payton proved to be a cautious Trick or Treater and made Jared carry her the whole time. And, Kai....well, he decided he didn't want to wear his Red Power Ranger costume (what a waste, but I'm over it) and just held a sword and wore his p.j.'s. He is classic.

Patience and Reagan always host amazing get togethers and we were so grateful to be a part of it. Thank you so much for the great night. We had so much fun!
